Gibraltar Airport is located practically on the border to Spain, the runway is actually used as the crossing for entry by car. It’s not a problem getting into the town centre, being only about ten minutes walk away; for those with bagae there are both taxis and buses (the Gibraltar Bus Company runs every 15 minutes) readily available.
If you are traveling into Spain then you can either take a taxi or walk across the border which may actually be quicker as there are often delays crossing the border, due to some pretty strict border control. If you are meeting somebody on a Gibraltar flight then its also best to park in La Linea instead of going through the hassle of going into Gibraltar and coming back out.
