About Rio Real Golf Club

The Rio Real Golf Club is in a superb location, only 3km from Marbella City centre. The course was designed by the famous Spanish golf architect Javier Arana.

Spread over a beautiful valley, the course is set in spectacular surroundings and is built on terrain that slopes gently down to the sea meaning that many holes have magnificent views of the Mediterranean.

Most of the fairways are separated from each other by mature trees providing the course with a distinctive character. Not forgetting the Rio Real River that crosses the course 4 times and creates some challenging water hazards. Judging distances over the ravines can be difficult, so playing the course more than once can be a definite benefit. For example the 11th hole tee shots must cross a ravine onto a fairway, and before reaching the green, there is also a stream to cross.

Directions: The course is situated east of Marbella. On the N340 coastal road take the exit road at km. 185 and follow the sign posts.
