La Cala Resort Marbella

La Cala Resort is set up in the mountains around a ten-minute drive from the coast, just west of Fuengirola. The resort is perfect for the golfer, as there are three 18 hole courses on site designed by Cabell B. Robinson who was previously European Director of the Robert Trent Jones Organisation. For the non-golfers there is the wonderful spa, a huge array of sports facilities and the beautiful surrounding area to explore.

There are 107 rooms at La Cala Resort spread across 3 floors. The rooms are comfortable, not overly spacious but with a superb marble bathroom with under-floor heating and all the modern amenities you would expect from a hotel of this class. The view of the sun setting behind the surrounding Mijas Mountains is best enjoyed from your own private balcony and puts the pleasure back into life even if you have had a terrible day on the course.

There are three 18-hole courses and the exclusive David Leadbetter Golf Academy, the only one in Spain; which consists of all the latest state of the art electronic equipment, adjoining driving range and a six-hole par 3 executive course.

However it’s not all golf here, because of its location the resort allows itself to spread out and can boast many facilities other hotels cannot such as a full sized football pitch, two floodlit tennis courts, a gym, a squash court, an outdoor swimming pool and a newly built spa.
