Clerico is an Argentinean grill restaurant that has recently opened in central Marbella after having seen such success at their first restaurant in Madrid. The decor in the restaurant is clean and modern with one of the walls taken up with their large wine collection. We sat down and were given a little entree of fresh chopped carrot and celery with a delicious dip, then ordered a starter to share of Argentinean chorizo sausage and some garlic bread. The menu is all about meat, meat and meat, they have a couple of ravioli dishes, homemade hamburgers, a chicken dish and a selection of salads but otherwise it´s just a question of how you like your steak. We chose the chateaubriand which came with a choice of baked potato or fries and some vegetables (not a lot). Once the meat had been brought over and been cut into slices I realised that it was a little rare for my taste, so I sent back my half (meal for two) and was promptly brought back three mini medium cooked steaks which were delicious accompanied with a large baked potato and some mushroom and blue cheese sauce. Once we had finished our bottle of Marques de Riscal; we were content to leave with full tummies not being able to face a dessert even though they had a brownie with vanilla ice cream on the menu! Anyway I can thoroughly recommend Clerico if you have a craving for some quality Argentinean beef, in a trendy relaxed atmosphere.
