About Casa De La Era

Casa De La Era is a little restaurant up behind La Canada, set in an old villa, with views of the mountain and the sea. To start we had the selection of Iberian Bellota, goats and sheep’s cheeses. The restaurant does many interesting plates to share for starters which enables you to get a good selection of things to try.

For mains I had the griddled turbot with garlic, rice and homemade chips and my friend had the baby goat from Malaga Mountains in sauce, which he assured me was excellent and put it well with the comment that ‘it tastes like good proper home-cooked food.’ The house red comes highly recommended from both of us.

The menu at Casa De La Era is unlike any I have ever seen before, it certainly values the traditions of the area and the old recipes from it. The restaurant has its own garden and poultry yard, which means the eggs and chickens are straight from the back yard and so are many of the vegetables

All the dishes are prepared with virgin olive oil and the selection of Iberian hams or Bellota is only from acorn fed pigs. I like the authenticity of the place and the setting, not a young modern restaurant but somewhere you can get a tasty fulfilling meal.
