Barcelo Premium Marbella

The Barcelo Marbella Golf hotel is a four star premium hotel located in Guadalmina. One thing you notice as you arrive at the hotel is that it appears clean and modern. The Barcelo Marbella is only two years old and looks just that. The lobby is spacious with a large chandelier hanging from the ceiling; the decoration is typically Andalucian but the hotel has a warm feeling about it due to the vast amount of dark wooden furnishings.

The Barcelo is about five minutes drive from the beach but there is a free shuttle bus for guests that runs all day in the summer. It is however in prime golf territory and is set amidst the 45-hole Guadalmina Golf Club, where guests receive special rates as well as deals on many of the other nearby courses. The Barcelo Marbella Golf Hotel makes for the perfect golf holiday but there's loads to do for the family holiday.

There 178 guestrooms in the hotel of which there are four types. The standard is better than many five star standard rooms which surprised me. The bathrooms are spotless with a separate bath and shower unit. All rooms have either a view of the Guadalmina golf course or the pool. As you go up in price the rooms get larger and larger until you reach the premium rooms that are sectioned off from the rest of the hotel; these are bigger than my apartment and include a huge bathroom with jacuzzi and a sun deck.

A complimentary breakfast is provided each morning.

Buffet Restaurant Marbella Golf - This buffet restaurant serves a range of local and international cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner where you can dine on the terrace overlooking the pool.

A La Carte Restaurant Marbella Golf - The à la carte menu provides guests with more formal dining option. Open for lunch and dinner.

The main pool is huge and is the main focus of the hotel, with its onsite cocktail and drinks bar. In regards to other hotel facilities, the Barcelo Marbella has a paddle tennis court that is set amongst some lovely landscaped gardens, a large gym and a treatments area with a Turkish bath, sauna and hydrotherapy baths.
